Funny, I was originally going to do that. But then I decided to Gloss Black it but it doesn't matter because I have so many rock chips..so I am glad I went with the Black bc..I could just plasti dip it over and over and it looks very clean.

I paid $200 but was told only because the lip needed to have preparation done so if you preparate yourself and give to a body shop you should save yourself some $$$

i don't think it's that ridiculous for a good paint job on some pieces.... $100 maybe at maaco. no one is detailing if they had prep & paint.
Prep & Paint a front lip & spoiler for $200 is a deal to me.

I just talked to a local shop in Madison, WI. Stated prep + paint estimate 2.4 hours = $243 including tax, which included sanding + sealer + 2/3 coats of base + 2/3 coats of clear. Talked to another shop and he was at $150 for prep + 2 coats each but didn't do a good job of explaining how he would prep so I'm nervous that he'd do it right.

Just to give you guys an idea of why I say the quotes you guys are getting are too high. Here at the Lexus dealership I work at we charge $900 to replace a front/rear bumper. That's prep, seal, paint, clear, removal of old bumper, swapping parts to new bumper, install, wet sand and buff, polish, and wax. So $200+ for small pieces is ridiculous IMO

I just placed the order in for the front lip yesterday so hopefully I could get it in by Friday, but I did go to this place to get a quote on how much it would cost to paint/install the lip, paint/install the roof spoiler, and bondo up the holes in my front bumper from the license plate bracket(which to this day I still don't understand why they put the holes there) and the guy said 180 for everything if I supply the paint for everything. Which in my mind is still kinda ridiculous. I'm going to look around a little more and see if I could get a better price

A little...

A little confused. Am I the only one who thinks it's a little weird to put on a lip without skirts and something to match on the rear?

It just seems a little half-assed not to do it all at once. And bad looking.

Actually $900 is about what insurance paid me to have my RB replaced after a inattentive driver hit my car a couple of years ago.
$200 is why I would only get it painted and CC, then install it myself and save on the additional labor$$$.

How is that possible? Those lips are mass produced using molds I believe..are you sure it was installed correctly? I just picked mine up as well but I have to test fit it still

As the molds are used excess resin builds up. Precision companies only use molds a certain number of times before they are destroyed and a new one is brought in. Sounds like Stillen is going overboard on cost savings recently.

This is not correct. I worked for a spoiler manufacturer for a few years. We had molds that were years old and still used them. Maybe there's a different method that you are referring to but ABS plastic Parts use metal molds that are easily cleaned.

oh hell...if these are the prices to paint standard colors, I don't want to know what it would cost to paint my pieces in pearl white...

Good to see feedback of prices paid for just paint or paint & install.

If anyone else wants to share how it went for them it would be appreciated.

As far as installation, for those who did it themselves: was it a paint in the aśs? Better to do it with two people?

I know I'm jumping the shark a little here but I just ordered mine tonight and directions to follow but is my hunch correct in preparation for the install -- wash, alcohol prep, adhesion promoter and then is it 3m?

Just looking for feedback holla
