altima heart transplant
altima heart transplant
hey - i was just wondering......is the 3.5 engine in the new altima the same engine as the one in the max??? They have very similar HP output, and they are both 3.5 liters, so i guess it wood be most economical for nissan to maufacture one engine and put it into two different cars. The extra 15HP on the max maybe from some fine adjustments maybe??? How about dropping the altima's engine into a max?? - is that possible?? - my neighbor is willing to sell me his altima powerplant cause he is gonna drop a V-8 into that sucker - (he wants to win this private import car show at stony brook very badly)

i worked at a call center, and this performance shop in cali called....and i was trying to help him out on his laptop, and he was talking about a dyno software, so i was like.... what do you all do? he told me that he does engine swaps...i told him is it possible...he was like...yes it is, if you have the money to get a skyline engine and the labor is about 3000

My friend is a manager at a Nissan dealer so as soon as I can get over there I'm gonna take a look at the 2002 repair manual and compare engine specs. If the blocks are the same I was thinking about trying a transplant myself or maybe just replaceing the crank, rods and pistons to bring mine up to a 3.5.

Re: Re: Re: altima heart transplant
If I can put a 445HP ZZ4 SBC Crate engins in my Pontiac Fiero, I don't think there should be any problem with a V8 transplant into an Altima.
Am I the only one that feels a bit threatened that Nissan upped the power of the Altima to beyond killing range of the stock Max?
