Removing lower grille plastic

Has anyone removed the piece of plastic that runs across the lower grille area? Was wondering if removing the trim would look good with the lower grille being more open. Opinions? Pics? any help is appreciated

I like having it there, at least for my color car.

I find it hard to believe nobody has removed it.

I was thinking about doing this myself, but then I saw how bright and silver the AC/lower radiator are. Would look too bright for the murdered out look I'm going for. Can't say I've seen anybody who has done it, most people just put a billet piece over it or something from what I have seen.
