300zx conversion help!

alright so im looking at these front calipers for my 98 max they are for a 300zx well i want to know what i need and where i can get it. I cant seem to find the adapter brackets anywhere but from fastbrakes.com but i only want the brackets fromt here and i need to find the lines and as for the rotor i dont know if to get the 13" rotors for a cobra or buy slotted rotors just i dont know what size!!! and yup i just need info cause im like so close to buying them haha

You wont find the brackets unless someone is selling them in the classifieds. Best thing to do is to use the stock 300zx rotors and have the diameter milled down. The rotors are much thicker and the braking performance is improved some but not as much as using the bracket. You can always install the bracket later when you find it. As for the lines, they are out there you will just have to look a bit harder. They are both common fitting sizes. I have Goodrich lines and cant complain. I have a spare set that I could be talked into selling if the price is right. There are a TON of threads on this, the info is out there just look around.

First off, their is a ton of info. about this subject, I read for weeks before digging into this and even then I amassed all my parts and was sure I had everything first.

If you are not planning on using your car on the track and just want stronger brakes, then I would advise just staying stock and installing a full set of braided lines, better fluid, and some Hawk or EBC pads, you'll be surprised at how much of a difference that will make and could save you a lot of money, time and trouble.

If you are going to track your car then get the brackets from Fastbrakes, that's where i got mine from and they are very good quality. They will work with the 12.6" or 13" size rotors as their is very little difference except with the 12.6" you will have a very slight pad overhang at the top, center section of the pad..no big deal.

The gain you get by having the 12.6 rotor (stock '04 Maxima rotor) is they are readily available, you don't need a special centering ring, the lug holes are the proper size and will not allow the rotor to move under braking, and you won't have to grind the edge of your control arm to avoid them impacting it when you turn sharp.

Get some 240sx braided conversion lines for the front, but if you want to do this right you should get the rear upgrade kit from Fastbrakes as well to balance out the larger front and then have custom lines made for the rear so your system is balanced out.

You will notice a increase in pedal travel, either live with it or if you have aluminum pedal covers (i put some on to allow me to effectively move the pedals closer together for better heel/toe work) you can just raise up the gas pedal by spacing it with 1/4" spacers to raise the pedal and that compensates for it and they feel fantastic!!!

Get some good pads (Hawk, EBC, etc).

You'll want to inspect those front calipers and see how good the operating condition is, they may need to be rebuilt before installing them (I did mine just to be certain they were done recently and correctly) and use good quality fluid and flush the whole system if it hasn't been done in the last couple years (use Motul or Ate) to make sure the system is ready for real brake work.

Do it right the first time, make sure you have all your parts correct and ready for install or you will be F*cked and have to reinstall you stock stuff or be out of a car for a while waiting for the right stuff to be made and sent.

It literally took me months to read all the articles, research the parts and decide on what I wanted and what direction I was going to go before ordering anything.

Where does Fastbrakes sell the brackets? I didnt see that available as an option?

Screw all that nonsense. Just get the 6th gen setup. No cobbling pieces. No modifying parts. It's a straight forward install.

Give them a call and ask only for the bracket. That doesn't sound to hard at all does it.
