Making a Ram Air Intake for my i30?

What up all, I'm thinking of going to a sheet metal shop and having them fabricate a scoop to take more air in from my grill and send it to my stock "ram intake". You guys think this will work well with a stock intake box? It should make more efficiency as the speed increases, since its a sealed box intake (im leaving the stock one for this purpose). It should even generate a few pounds of boost at higher speeds(40mph+). Also, using metal should keep the ram and surrounding air cool. What do ya all think? This is safe right?
