Gas pedal "stop"

Really odd question... does anyone else notice that when you floor the skinny pedal that at the very end of it's travel there is almost a "stop" and then if you press it a bit harder it will go down a touch further?

It almost seems like this was by design, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why? Maybe I am nuts.

I modified it to activate my supercharged turbo nitrous system, coupled to a direct exhaust injection setup with a pressurized cross drilled boost bar, and stiffened piston return springs.
In addition, I also gain an extra 1.21 jiga-horsepower when I hit full boost from the the flux bearings in the muffler, lubricated by special mix of L-BO grease and blinker fluid.
