Please Help Me Identify this Part ...
Hello,
My mechanic informed me that I need to replace my "Coolant Assembly Line" because my antifreeze is leaking through a short metal piece at located at the bottom of the car, near the front right tire. He is unable to give me the specific name for the part, but did indicate that it is part of the "coolant assembly line"
He also indicated that the metal piece is connected to a hose that runs/feeds into the engine - attached is a picture showing the hose (arrowed).
Kindly let me know if you have any idea what this hose is, and whether there are other (better) aftermarket replacement parts...
cheers, Noela

Tried Heating and Cooling sections, but not sure .... so let me know if there are specific areas to check.
thanks - Noela

Yup, that salty sea breeze I love so much does NASTY things to steel. Nissan can't be blamed for that. Might as well dip your car in acid. Of course salty roads in the winter where I am now isn't any better.
its the salty roads, not the salty breeze. My maxima has been within 20 miles of the coast for probably 99% of its life and theres no rust to be found. If I were to park my car ON the beach that might be different, but having been on the east coast many times I can tell you there is a lot more sea breeze here, and infinitely less salt on the roads in the winter

Think TV show from the 80's called Salvage.

So I have had a very slight coolant leak and I was almost sure when a mechanic first pointed it out to me it was the same pipe as described in this thread. and so i bought this part,
http://www.courtesyparts.com/21302mb...3-p-45108.html
So once I came around to getting it done by a different mechanic they said I had the wrong replacement part and that part wasn't the one leaking.......
Quote "it is on the other side closer to the radiator"
What does this mean?? I was pretty sure when I first saw this small leak that this was the part, and with this thread an others it almost confirmed my leak here even further.
Could it be I have a leak through a hose and not a metal deteriorated metal pipe? At this time my leak is so bad when I fill up the reservoir it almost dumps right out with in an hour. No heat at idle or coasting.
When I saw a leak pool after parking, the leak looked like it was on the driver side kinda in front of the battery under the intake snorkel area..... do you think that's what he meant?

The part you ordered is not the one shown in the photo at the beginning of this thread. You bought a hose for the oil cooler which is down by the oil filter at the bottom of the engine and not seen in the above photo.
As to what is really leaking on your car, I don't know. Unfortunately, your worded description doesn't really help me. Can you post a photo?

I have to replace the hoses too. We can probably just remove them and plug holes. Most cars don't have oil coolers, I was told oil cooler is needed over 100 MPH (Europe highways)

Coroded tube
This "Lower Oil Cooler Coolant Tube" p/n 140538J10A, it's used on nissan V6 engines from 2002-2009. Mine is coroded and leaking right now and I am thinking of just replacing it with a 1/2" rubber hose and a hose to hose connector for $1.25 instead of $40-$50.

Jesus. Couple that with the fact that the Pathy is an 08 and the Maxi is an 03.
