Just was wondering if 5th gen parts are the same as 4th gen parts like axles, suspension parts like struts and tie rod ends? And would the coils work on our cars? I know they only have one 10mm bolt instead of 2 8mm, but wondered if anyone tried them before, just courious.

Yes and no. Axles are the same but the rest of the stuff you mentioned are not.

Actully you'd be surprised at whats possible. I've swapped quite a few 5th gen parts on my 98 and some 4th gen parts on to my cousins 02.

Right now I have the 00vi swap with both 5th gen valve covers. I am using the 4th gen coils because the 5th gen coils are garbage. The bolt holes don't line up which is not a good thing for long term use.

Pretty sure the tie rod ends are identical.

Front struts will swap over if you swap the steering knuckle or re drill the top bolt hole to match the 4th gen knuckle.

Rear struts will fit and there are a few ways to do it. 5th gen strut + 5th gen spring + 4th gen upper mount. Or 5th gen strut + 4th gen spring seat + 4th gen spring and upper mount.

Driver axle/drive shaft is transmission dependent but they will swap ie: 95 auto = 03 auto. 95-03 passenger axle is the same regardless. Just be mindfull of ABS.

Anyway, some will bolt on with out much issue. Others will need a bit more effort.

Kool I saw one in the junkyard and wanted to get the tie rod ends and the front valve cover, because of the raised oil cap, just have to find some coils. What does the 00vi stand for?
