TS Ecu troubles

Quite awhile ago I purchased a used ts f-spec ecu on the forum. It was stated to be for 5th gen automatic maximas. I researched quite a bit and was confident that the ecu would still work in a manual transmission car, which is what I have.

I took it to the dealership to have it installed today, which apparently is a 2.5 hour job, which is going to be a very painful bill. However that is only the start of my problems, as I received a phonecall from the dealership telling me that the ecu wasn't working properly, something about the cooling for the engine not being triggered to come on, and lights not going off. They even told me that it is a 2003 Altima ecu of all things, not even a maxima ecu, as well as being for automatic transmission.

I am on the hook for 2.5 hours x 2, as the old ecu is going to have to go back into my car. Is the dealership possibly doing something wrong or missing something to get the ecu properly installed, or is it likely that I actually was sold an altima ecu?

I have contacted the person I purchased this from, unfortunately it was a long time ago, and I'm not sure if they are still active on the forum.

If anything, I guess I can try to sell the ecu on an altima forum...
