won't connect to my ecu in my 95, thought this code reader would work as it's a obd2 maxima. am i not pressing the right buttons? i just hit enter when i plug it in and that's all i saw chris do with the one he's got. his is a 96 though.

I had the same issue with a 96 I had some time ago. The OBD2 scanner could not connect. I tried with the self-diagnostics screw and it worked just fine. Not sure if that helps.

Try putting a little pressure to the connector in, back, forward, etc holding each for several seconds and watching the scanner as you do it. If you find a position that works you may have to hold it until it is finished. It is just a loose wire connector within in the obd port.

 

check the ENG CONT. fuse at the wayy top top right corner of the interior fuse box...
