5th Gen Auto X

Well, I know this isn't the Auto X section, so mods, if you feel the need, move this, and give me swift warning.

BUT I'm posting here, because I'm never here anymore, and I wanted to share with the 5th gen guys who probably don't even know about the sport at all.
This weekend, the G35 was down waiting on wheel bearings. So I test fitted it's 265 RS3 tires, 9.5" wide Enkei rims, and low and behold, they actually fit the Maxima!!!

This car has no idea what it's in for. So off to the Auto X event, 2 days of turning torture for the old 2001 SE. Low and behold, I was able to pull off 2nd place in class Saturday, and 1st in class Sunday.
What a riot!!!
This car is very unstable, but once I started getting used to what it could and couldn't do, I was actually able to toss it around the track really well, considering!

Here's a video of one of my fastest POTENTIAL laps, if it weren't for the cone at the end, trying to cut things too tight lol. I post it because it's the most entertaining to watch though!!

And some pics

This weekend restored a very lacking amount of faith in this car. Hat's off, Maxima. I still hate you, but less so. I've also decided you deserve a name. It shall be "White Vagina".

Pretty cool.
Is it stock? I'm thinking of getting a front sway bar on mine.
Body roll is insane sloppy.

You want a RSB (REAR Sway Bar). And yes, completely stock, actually very worn out SE suspension.

Congrats 'Tuner'! I'm learning what my G35x will/won't do as a daily. My biggest complaint, the wimpy 215/55-17 tires. Biggest surprise overpowering the rears but still cornering pretty well...Because AWD!

Good looking auto-x and wheel/tire combo! I remember years ago when I switched from stock 205's to the 235's I couldn't believe how different it felt not only in turning the wheel but just rolling down the road so I cant imagine the grip 265's give in an auto-x.

It seems everybody is away from the .org at the moment. Perhaps because it is summer....
