ODB II pinout / speed signal
ODB II pinout / speed signal
Hi everyone,
Im interested in installing a Heads Up Display (HUD) in my maxi.
It should project my speed over the windshield. I found several kits in ebay, all of them require the vehicle's speed information from the ODBII connector. Can someone shed some light on how to figure out which pin provide this signal?
I would be glad to have all of the ODBII pinout decoded as well if anyone has this information.
Thank you
Zohar

The OBD port uses a type of data communications to transfer data between the ECU and what ever you plug into it. Nissan uses the ISO 9141-2 protocol which uses pin 7 for asynchronous serial data.
For the pinouts, they are in the FSM. Don't have one? get it here:

And where would that be? Where can I find an analog input to interpret speed?
