horrible window squeek

Hi all,
haven't been here for years, but still have my 2000 Maxima, 81,000 miles and running great. Bought new and for the past probably 5-6 years I have this horrible window squeak on the drivers side window when ever it goes up or down. I think the felt in the window seal at the top of the door panel is gone so I'm getting window to rubber only and hence the squeak.
Does anyone know, is this seal separate from the door panel, or will I have to replace the entire door panel?
I will be selling it very soon and don't want to pass this on to the new owner.

thanks in advance.

PS. I'm going to try rain-x and see if this quiets things a little.

I would take the door panel off to see if the squeak goes away and verify your thinking.

I don't think that that seal is sold separate. If the rain-x doesn't fix it, I'd say a junkyard run is in order.

Well I may have answered my own question. I called the dealer and there is an inside and outside "Belt Molding, seal" at the top of the door panel. They are separate. I ordered the outside seal as it is only $110 and seems the likely culprit. If the rain-X doesn't help (which I doubt it will) I'll have the dealer install the seal for about $55 labor. Money well spent to quiet this window. I'm selling the car and have a buyer so don't want the deal to go south for this issue.
