03 Altima 3.5 in 5.5 new clutch no start

I have a 03 altima vq35 i just put in my 5.5. Old motor would crank even with bad rods. Crank and cams sensors are new, new clutch new everything the car started once and ran for about 10 seconds then would never start again. Played with the cranks sensor for about 7hrs and couldn't get it right. PLEASE HELP!!!

I did that before I even put the motor in. Compression is fine. There is spark. The car just wont turn over.

Grounds possibly. When you put in the new clutch did you meticulously clean the mating surfaces of the tranny and engine?

If not, search for grounding threads for details in how to add grounds. I'm too lazy to do it right now.

Run a ground from the battery to between the motor and tranny and put it on the starter bolt.

turn over is a term that is universally used in two different ways: turn over AKA start, or turn over AKA crank. So does the car crank or not?

I just tried it no success. I think I didn't like up the dowl pin with the dowl pin hole on the crank and flywheel

Did you check the neutral switch in the transmission? Is it plugged in? Is the switch good?

On the starter, unplug the thin wire that goes to the solenoid ans jumper 12 volts to it. If the starter is good, the engine should crank. If it doesn't, you have a bad starter. If it does crank, the starter circuit is bad. Checking for things like the neutral switch, clutch pedal switch, etc.

This doesnt make sense, you said it started the first time and now it will no longer start. If the engine doesnt crank then playing with crank sensor/dowels/etc isnt going to do anything because those sensors are not in use until the starter cranks the engine. Your answer still doesnt really make sense though, does anything happen when you turn the key or not?

Yes it did start and ran for a few seconds. The dowel pin on the crank wwas in the wrong position so the flywheel was off by a little bit. After dropping the tranny again and correcting the issue the car started on the first turn.

Found what the issue was. Dowl pin for the flywheel was not in the flywheel hole. Had to drop the tranny again. started right up on the first turn!!! Thanks for your help
