I don't have too much knowledge of these style of leds ..... Would they be OK for the 5.5 gen clear parking light in our headlights.

 

I don't think they make cree leds for our cars. Do you have a link of what you are looking at?

 

I know they say reverse light but I was wondering if they would help with the lighting in the front??

They will get too hot for long running times in the parking sockets. I have them for my reverse lights and they are bright.

For running lights, look at something like this:

You're gonna have issues with them dying prematurely due to heat. That kind of brightness is overkill for parking lights anyway.

 

I would be more concerned with the housing melting before the bulb wearing out.

 

I had no idea they got hot..... Normal leds don't.

 

And normal leds don't emit the same amount of light either.

The metal bands/housings you see on the LEDs posted in this thread are heatsinks to help remove the heat.

OK so the Cree leds are out of the question for the parking lights..... I'll probably pick up a set for the reverse lights.... And some of those Vleds for the parking.

I would love to have some of those for my cars backup lights since the previous owner tinted the tail lights. Are any of these better than others, cause there are alot of them on ebay.

 

7W R5 are the ones to get. Also spend about $25-$30 on them. I suspect the cheaper ones from China are trashy reps.

And don't get the "GP Thunder" 7W R5 ones. I ordered some for a friend, got them today and they don't use Cree chips. They're also not even as bright as the Q5s
