People with projectors blind me as well, everyone out here doesn't care for retrofitting.

If someone blinds you with a projector, that means that the headlight is above your car OR the projector was installed wrong.

See, projectors have this nifty thing called a cutoff shield, which essentially doesnt allow any light to go above a certain point.

Why does everyone get so butthurt over it? It's my choice. Maybe I don't feel like dropping money for them. It's not like I desperately need them anyways. When I want to drop the cash for them then I'll get it. Like I said, lots of people out here don't retrofit their headlights when putting Hids in. If their car happens to have them already, then they just go right head and put them in.

What's wrong with the fogs? Thought they matched pretty well since there are square.

Anything but OEM style looks very F&F on these cars.

Just doing something different. It's all about preference.

Its because inconsiderate decisions like that blind other drivers and can cause an accident.

The worst that has ever happened was several people pulling over because it bothered them, or they slowed down at night time to let me pass through a narrow road in a neighborhood. I never even wanted these bulbs. It was a crappy eBay kit. They sent me the wrong bulbs and gave me these. It's lasting me though. If anyone wants to buy me projectors then I'll go ahead and put them in myself, otherwise I'll wait until I feel like dropping that money.

If you don't even want them then just install stock bulbs and call it a day.

Yeah buddy, normally I am all for the "its your car do what makes you happy" ideals, but the headlights thing is just.... Extremely inconsiderate.

I think if you don't feel like dropping money on doing it properly, at least aim them all the way down and get some eyelids or something. Not everyone can adjust their eyes as quickly, and if you blind someone at the wrong time. It might get nasty.

I hope he gets pulled over by the cops and slap some sense into him.

And that "illest" emblem

Eh,

I ran HIDs in stock housings for a long long time. After moving towards retrofitted projectors it was so much better for myself, let alone those around me.

Do what you do homie, car looks decent so throw some more money at it.

I did a ghetto quick fix for lights. I put some electrical tape over the headlights to give it that eye lid appearance, and it actually looked cool, and it helped decrease the beam of the lights to a lower level. It didn't blind people, but it somehow ruined the headlights. It left these marks so I removed it because the adhesive got icky.

I appreciate your response. It seems to be the only positive one on this thread.

Never got pulled over for my lights, ever. Lots of people are doing it, so what makes you think I'd get a ticket? I've had purple as well. I once blinded a cop by my current lights and he just flashed me. I'm surprised he didn't do anything.

Notice that I have said nothing about the other stuff done to your car, I could careless what "mods" you do ..... with that said, HID's in reflector based housings are just a NO. They create massive amounts of glare into the the eyes of other drivers, hell youve even said that "The worst that has ever happened was several people pulling over because it bothered them, or they slowed down at night time to let me pass through a narrow road in a neighborhood.", it's really just inconsiderate.

When you pass someone with sensitivity to extremely bright light (I have photophobia [an extreme sensitivity to bright light]), when people with HID's in reflector housings are coming at me head on, I am blinded by the glare for a split second .......... guess who's at fault if they hit you? That's right YOU, because you are running headlights that are for "offroad/show use only"

Since when were they ever for offroad/show use only? That's like reading a tint spray can. Boo hoo, you get blinded for 5 seconds and then you go about your way. Hell I even turn my brights on because the beam isn't as strong in front, since it expands out. Maybe I should rename the thread to "Argument about HIDs in stock housings". I don't need this bs from whoever doesn't like it. If it doesn't affect you then don't worry about it. I'm FULLY aware that it's not a good idea to do so, but I do it anyways because I don't feel like dishing out money into my car. I've known it wasn't a good idea since the first time I've ever had HID bulbs. I do my research. Oh no he's not using projectors, he must be an inconsiderate moron, let's bash on him. This topic is about the car, not why I should buy projectors asap.

Okay bro, people are not hating on you just for the fun of it. Overall, I like your car; it's clean and it looks like you take great care of it.

People are just trying to help you avoid tickets, and all that good stuff. I live in WA and was pulled over a long time ago for having yellow lights, which were normal halogen bulbs, no HIDs. And before that, I was talked to about having yellow fogs. But, the real issue is blinding people. I don't know where you live, but I use to live in a heavily forested area with lots of tight turns and if someone blinds you during a tight turn and you cannot guess how far to keep turning you are going to run into a tree, the other driver, or into a ditch.

Again, even though it might not sound like it. People are caring, caring about you, the other people, your car, and your finances. So don't take it the wrong way, but give it some serious thought and just think about it. And if you still feel like not doing it, then its all good man.

Someone understands, thanks. I know that doing it the right way is strongly encouraged but I don't have that extra money to dump into headlights.

just piece it together until you have all the parts, or have someone do a retro for you in here. probably around 600.00 or so. plus the hid kit and harness.
