Replacement ??? for rear brakes for 2010 sv

I always had nissan cars and remember if you didnt use nissan pads the brakes would always squeel. Im having a friend do my brakes, he said just get pads that are ceramic.

Can anyone tell me if that would work, also recommend a decent brand. Im looking to save money so I dont need any for crazy performance. Also, can the rear rotors be cut or do I need to just replace.

I've used Hawk and Wagner ceramic pads on two of my Maxima's with good results. My friend swears by Posi Quiets but I have no history with them. As for turning your rotors, yes they can be turned. I just replace them cause they are relatively inexpensive anyway and I wouldn't want to risk them getting cut to close to the bare minimum.
