Sounds really good. I been trying my hardest to find an exhaust that sounds simlar to a turbo but also have that sound of a G35/z and this one is pretty damn close.

My current gen 4 has a really loud/drone sound and I'm tired of it. So when I get a gen 5 maxima soon. I want to put this one on.

btw this sucker picks up nasty for an auto lol

Cattman or Megan most likely Megan. Cattmans are a bit more high pitch and raspy.

So he put a test pipe on huh. That is why it sounds so good. Makes me wonder if taking off the res would be a good idea. He still has a cat on there right?

Crushy, have you even heard a 3" Cattman on a VQ35!? High pitch and raspy are not phrases I would use to describe it. LOL!! To suggest the Megan doesn't have drone is misleading. That video failed to demonstrate anything other than idle and full throttle.

Yes, that Megan sounds good. But true test of any exhaust is where it functions 99% of the time..... During normal driving and "drone zone." Find some other Megan videos. You can always upgrade the resonator to lower volume and drone.

So do I have to go 3" to get this sound? I mean jesus 3" is a bit excessive when you don't have a turbo lol

Yes you need a 3" pipe to get the same sound. A bigger diameter pipe creates a deeper more mellow sound. I have a 3" pipe from the cat, no resonator, to a magnaflow muffler and it sounds very nice

No, you don't have to. But you are absolutely right about sounds resulting from specific set ups. Ive heard some dewp sounding 2.5" systems. RC is entitely right though, the biggwr system tends to produce deeper tones. I'm just encouraging you to do some more research and listen to more sound clips (as they will vary) to see what you're getting into. In any case, you can always add a larger resonator section to reduce overall volume and drone, as I and several others have even with the Cattman system.

BTW, it has been dyno proven multiple times that the 3" exhaust on the 3.5 makes significantly more power over a 2.5" system. The idea that larger systems are only good for or necessary with boosted applications is no longer accurate for all engines. Don't misunderstand, a 2.5" system is a tremendous improvement over stock.

Yea i have, i was saying in comparison. Its not a bad thing infact its better than those overly deep exhuast notes that 3/4 of "car enthusiast" crave for, gives for a more exotic sound.

Sound clips from the internet are not a good benchmark. Ask me how I know.

All I know is that if I'm looking for new exhaust for my Max, I want what's in that video. It has that performance sound without giving off the too loud ricey sound detest.

Frankencar or Megan. Greddy Evo ii always sounded the best. The guy in the video seems like he should be in a civic tarding down the road.

no two microphones or speakers are the same. theresult is a different sound to each person listening to the video + the fact what the microphone picks up isn't the same as what it sounds like IRL.
