xtd 3.5 rwd flywheel in an 02 6spd problems

I anticipated having to shim the starter when installing this flywheel him too my o2 sikk speed but I wasn't aware of any other issues. after installing this flywheel I now have no tach the car is hard as hell to start and I have a CPS engine light. any fixes to this problem or does this fly will not work? Thanks in advance im stumped.

the RWD flywheel has a different timing ring offset than the FWD flywheel which if you didnt deal with it, explains why its hard to start and you have a CPS light

search for super old threads from SR20DEN, I think he was the first to make the adaptation. I dont know exactly what you have to do, possibly shim the timing ring, as well clock to the proper FWD alignment, maybe something else? The starter ring gear is also smaller on a RWD flywheel (124 teeth RWD vs 125 teeth FWD) which might cause you some grinding noise. It would certainly help you if you still have your FWD flywheel to compare dowel pin/timing ring location and distance from crank mounting surface to timing ring. There are a handful of threads covering the issue, might be a couple hours of reading to make sure you get it right.

I think this is the part you really need to have a stock FWD flywheel lying around for. If you do, you should be able to just match up the timing rings on them with respect to the stock dowel pin location. If you dont have one laying around maybe you can find a picture of one online?

tdc markings might be different but should be similar for all flywheels. Follow jwt's instructions..

I am about to do this later this week with a jwt rwd flywheel and 350zde clutch. Did you just grind the opening for the crank encoder?

Some flywheels you do have to move the CPS itself and some flywheels like the XTD can have the timing ring re-shimmed to the correct offset.
