Intake or replacement filter suggestions
Intake or replacement filter suggestions
Just looking for opinions, I see a lot of people here have the r2c intakes. How are those for sound?hp?mpg? I also see a bunch of people here have the kn drop in filters. Any problems with those as far as the oil goes. In all seriousness I'm aware I'm not going to turn into a race car, just looking for something with alittle extra oomph, and alittle growl. Thanks guys
I started with the drop in and then put in the Stillen CAI.
The biggest difference between the two.
With the drop in I noticed a meaner sound at startup, the Stillen the sound is better during normal driving when stepping on it.
No noticeable difference in MPG at all. I'd recommend the drop in as a lesser expensive alternative if money is an issue. I actually picked up my Stillen off another member at a great price and threw him my drop in as an exchange.

I gotcha, ghozt I noticed you had the r2c intake before, what's your take on that one. They claim to have the best on there site(I know everyone says they do), and it's reasonably priced. Do you lose low end power? Any drop in mpg, or do the people that claim they lose mpg the ones that floor the pedal to hear the sound causing mileage to drop
Heyy Tommy any loss on MPG is directly correlated to stepping on it more often than normal.
Ghozst made a good point about different models from Stillen. That I didn't know about, however I had no problems with throwing error codes.
Two things to remember. Disconnect your battery from the beginning and leave it until your done. Secondly, be super careful when handling the sensor. I tucked it away in my wiper while completing the job.
Good luck Boston!!!
