oil to top of dispstich- head gasket?

I have oil to the top of the dipstick, not milky, could it be a blown head gasket?

Did you clean off the dipstick and test again?

Let the car sit turned off on level ground for 10 minutes and check the level again.

Car has to sit for at least 5 hours on level ground to get a proper reading. If not oil will be all over because its still draining down from the top.

I've started having those same problems. The only thing I've done different is I added Lucas to my oil. I love their products. I think that maybe the oil wicks up with some additives. I'll do a flush in the next few weeks and try it again with clean factory recommended oil. Maybe then the oil will shed back to the pan.

if you start getting oil shooting out of the dipstick tube, theres blowby and your rings are probably shot
