I don't think you can fix that. It is a piece of foil glued (or something) to the plastic cover. You'll probably have to get another cover.

1. Remove the engine cover
2. Use heat gun to remove burger
(It's on w/adhesive tape)
3. Peel off all the crinkles
4. Scuff it up a bit & paint it
5. Use adhesive glue or tape & put back

Is my emblem not ruined from the wrinkles?

That was my initial reaction to the situation but I did read a thread here where someone redid their entire cover. I am hoping that I can just fix the emblem though.

Thank you for the help. It's great to have a resource like this website.

If I want to paint the cover what kind of paint do I need to use?

I paid $50 to have a body shop do it, but use a plastic primer and proper prep if you do it yourself

paint it

I painted my emblem, as well as the engine cover. You can use what ever auto body pain you want for the emblem it gets warm but never extremely hot. However i do recommend high temp clear coat. I used some caliper clear coat and it still looks great after 6 months.

Just remove it it is taped on and peal off all the foil. Mine was some greenish color underneath.
