2014 sport drivers seat
Is it just me or does anyone else find this seat incredibly uncomfortable?... I'm 5'9" 180 lbs and can't seem to find a comfortable driving position...getting leg and lower back pain....I always thought maximas were comfortable cars...what happened?....
While no manufacturer has figured out a seat that is perfectly comfortable for everyone, I encourage you to keep trying. It took me a few weeks of driving to find my perfect position. I'm 6' 215 and more muscular than the average dude and find the seats perfect. My older dad who is 5'10, 240 and chubby always talks about how comfortable my car is for his bad back.
My 13 sport tech has the most comfortable seats of any car I've sat in (including multiple lexus', infiniti's, bmw's, range rovers, Chevy's, Fords, Buick's, lincolns, Volvo's and VW's).
I used to own an old Volvo 240. My dad LOVED the seats. Thought they were the best. I couldn't find a comfortable position and always hated them.
Keep on adjusting.
A few tips that work for me?
- first adjust for the length of your legs
- next, adjust the seat extender to add a little support to your thighs
- I prefer the back to be as upright as possible
- adjust the angle of the seat back so your knees aren't too high and you aren't forcing yourself into an uncomfortable position
- play around with lumbar support (mine is just tight enough to touch and support my lower back. I started with zero lumbar and pumped it up just until I could feel it pressing against my back)
- make sure the height of the seat isn't too low (you'll lean back, putting extra stress on the lower back) or too high (you'll lean forward and won't use the back to support the weight at all).
I drive around 1600 miles a month, with some days being over 130 miles, so I sort of need an extremely comfortable and supportive seat.
Good luck!

Silberma...it's funny you mentioned the accord...I had a 2009 Accord sedan and that car was by far the most uncomfortable car I've ever driven....my friend had a 2012 and had the same complaints.
Of course, they just don't compare to my Max's seats. Truly comfortable for my body type.
