CVT Ratios

Hey guys,

I bet you clearly noticed that the ratio for M6 is quite higher than any other ratio, I understand this is to let the car rest at high speeds. Is there anyway to alter the CVT's ratios? and probably tweak them to have the best set of ratios?

I quite hate the 1st and 6th ratios, the 1st is just dam too long, and the 6th is dam to high!

It is a CVT. It is always varying to match speed, load, and rpms.
If you are talking about the manual mode...why? It is slower and uses more gas.

I'd love to know if we can alter ours.
I'm not sure if "we" can tune them - or if it's hard coded. From what I can gather, certain variables have to be defined - so it can determine proper speed, loads, rpms (just as MaximaDrvr says)..

We take the risk though, of blowing our tranny's or engines if this were possible lol

Nissan has the CVT/Engine match about right with the current gen Maxima.
The minimal HP increases available to the 7th max platform is not enough to bother with any potential benefits and cost of a "re-programming" of the CVT.
