Need help with purchase....Please.

Hi...
I posted this question somewhere else but I think it was on the wrong thread. This is my first time here so forgive me.
Anyway, I am interested in buying a 2011 Maxima SV (black) which is loaded.
It has: Cold package, Premium package, Sports package, and dual sunroof with navigation/dvd and rear spoiler. It also has a 9.3 gb hard drive for music,
one owner no accidents. It also comes with a dealer, extended warranty for 100K or 7 years on the drive train. It has 36K miles on it and the dealer wants to move it before the heavy snow hits. I can get it for $20K, from what I've seen online this seems like a good price to me but I don't have any experience with the 7th generation Maximas. I did own a 1991 Maxima SE (manual trans.) way back in the day and it ran great, but only had about 185 HP if I remember right.

I am also looking at a 2011 Caddy CTS AWD with the 3.6 engine for $21,500. It has 39K miles and has heated and cooled leather seats but no navigation or sun roof. It comes with a basic GM warranty good for 2 more years.

I am looking to purchase one of these tomorrow. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Anderson

Go with the Max on the warranty alone. Both cars at that mileage are well broken in and most problems you would expect to have should have been exposed at this point.

Thanks

Hey thanks for the reply. One more question, do you notice any "torque steer" on your Maxima? I test drove the one I am interested in but didn't really push it hard with my son in the car. Thanks.

Any front wheel drive car will have some torque steer. Nissan has done a pretty good job with the 7th gen Max to minimize this. I don't think it's bad at all.

I think both cars are decently priced.
I'd shoot for the Maxima, as it will be more luxurious and has more features, but play the other purchase with that seller. If you can grab the max for $18.5, I'd snap it up. Leaving price alone, drive both and see which you like better.
Some people like apples and some people like oranges. The price seems good on both. If it were me facing the same choice, I'd make sure I had some wheel time in both cars and base my decision on that. I like both cars a lot and have driven both. They are different cars.

After the engine has warmed up pop the hood and make sure it does not do this.

If it does not have the noise I'd go for the Maxima.

Never herd of that.

Thanks for the info. I will listen for that, not sure how faint it is.
I do know when I test drove the Maxima I actually brought it home for
a few ours and my son was listening to the radio for maybe 15 minutes with the
car off and the battery was too dead to start the car when I went to return it, I had to jump it. Heard this was a problem with Maxima stock batteries.

Thanks

Now post the same question at cadillacforums.com and get an average. Then once you have your average throw it away. Buy what YOU want.

Maxima has very minimal torque steer compared to other fwd cars with similar HP and torque..... Don't know why - tires and suspension? I can manage the max full throttle, my former v6 Accord coupe had so much torque steer that someone unexpecting could encounter an accident....

Caddy? Wow, two different extremes and both nice cars. Id Grab the max if the extended warranty is bumper to bumper and same as manufacturers original warranty (often they're not - but presented as if they are, until you have a problem and a bill) and a loaner was guaranteed while Max is being serviced.

I'd also be looking at new 2013 end of year Buicks - saw some hefty Black Friday specials heavily discounted stickers and APR's that had my head spinning.....
