Hey everybody,

Been lurking on the site for some time now and finally joined. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the wealth of knowledge that this forum offers; some of the cars on here are just unbelievable!!

I just bought a brand new '12 Maxima SV in dark metallic slate with the Sport Package and all the whistles and bells after previously owning an '09 Maxima SV with the Sport Package and everything else minus the navigation.

There were no issues with my '09, it's just that there were literally 14 miles on the '12 when I bought it two weeks ago; I drove out 45 minutes to see this car because it's brand new, and with the car being a 2012 and next year being 2014 that obviously = advantage: buyer. After the typical give & take and cat & mouse with the sales rep the deal got done.

I'd like to think I got a good deal as I only had 36 months left to pay on my '09 which had 48,000 miles on it and my payment only went up $70 a month and my term is back up to 60 months.

Anyway, it's already tinted and will have the following things done:

- eibach springs
- powder coating the '19 stock wheels from alloy to match the dark metallic slate color of the car to give it a monochromatic look
- powder coating the caliper and caliper carriers
- spraying the rotor hats with Krylon high-heat paint
- currently torn between the K&N 69 Series Typhoon and the AEM Cold Air Intake systems but will be doing one of those; any insight is appreciated!!

I'll post pictures when I reach the 15 post minimum and am able to as I plan to get the work done soon.

Welcome! Congrats on the upgrade, sounds like you feel good about it so that's great. I love the slate color (that's what I've got), and I used the anthracite color plastidip to match the wheels closely to the car color. It'll look SWEET if you powdercoat the wheels. I'll be jealous of you. As for intakes, you'll be equally happy with either. The AEM has a dry filter which is easier, K&N is oiled. But neither is a bad choice. Last bit of advice for you, look into a stillen lip. They look great and you'll love the look with that and the Eibach drop. Congrats again!

Welcome,

What did you pay ?

Good job finding a 2012, leftovers always bring the best deals, 2 years leftover and that much more

Wow! Hey, thanks for the welcome, boys. I really appreciate it.

@Serpent - I agree, I've been creeping on the Stillen website and am thinking about the side skirts and the front lip spoiler; also thinking about calling them to see if I can negotiate a little mix-and-match on the 5-piece body kit, as there are parts that I don't want which are included in the 7-piece body kit and the same goes for the 7-piece kit containing parts that I'm not interested in as well, so, we'll see how it goes.

@13Maximasv - $42K sticker but financing $32,100 which includes '09 SV trade, $2,500 down (which sucks, I know) but the extended service contract was also included which covers full power train and bumper to bumper for 7 years or $100,000 miles with $0 deductible. Tax, title and registration included in the loan amount financed also.

So, all and all, I feel as though it was a good deal and it is my first brand new car, so the plan is to pay this ***** off early and make just enough mods to give it a little kick from a CAI while keeping the car looking sharp but aggressive, and not too "hood" or cheap, if you know what I mean -- it's a fine line there, in my opinion, and you certainly know one when you see one.

I can't be reading this correct, you are financing $32K and trading your car plus $2500 cash ???

Is your current car an upside down trade meaning that you owe more on it than it's worth ?

How much are they charging you for the warranty ? Members here have been able to get that warranty much cheaper at Nissan of Santa Rosa.

Forget Maxima stickers, New 2013 Premium/TEchs are selling for $28K today, run some prices on truecar.com

Good Luck

I bought a 2011 sv CPo for $24000 with the 36000 bumper to bumper and the 120000 free power train so it's worth buying a CPo from nissan it's a free deal I have already brought it in to have the passenger speaker replaced from Bose it was in the next day which makes me believe it's fairly common . My car had 19000 on it .

@13Maximasv - I'm not sure what isn't making sense, but although I wasn't upside down on the trade but they didn't give me anything for it either; I had 48,000 miles on the '09 that I traded in and owed exactly $15,000 on it.

At any rate, the goal is to pay off the note completely within 36 - 42 months, so that's what I'll do.

@Ghozt - Thanks for the welcome, bro. I've seen your car from the pics and YouTube videos you've posted and it's a sick whip to say the least. Very nicely done, if I do say so myself!

I'm sure it's my fault but I'm just trying to figure out how you paid $2500 cash and have a $32K note, so basically the car was $34.5K ?

I thought you might have owed more on your 2009 than they gave you as a trade to get the figures so high

Did you get 0% ? If so why rush to pay it off, plenty of places you can make 4% or more on that $$
