Cold Weather

Hello All. Happy Holidays to everyone. This morning it was 23 when I got in my car. I let it warm up for a few minutes and when I put it in gear the car barely would move. After about 20 seconds the car acted normal. I checked all fluids, scanned the computer and couldn't find anything. Any one ever encounter this? Let me know. Thanks guys.

I have noticed a difference in the way the car drives in cold weather, although not to the extent you experienced.

My car is a 2010 SV with roughly 59,400 miles on it. I had the cvt fluid changed at 50k miles. I park in a garage that is usually 20+ degrees warmer than the outside temperature.

One particularly cold 17 degree day last week I noticed that the car was slow to take off from a stop and generally acted differently than usual. Because it didn't seem to get any better as the car warmed up I simply attributed it to the trans fluid reacting to the colder temp.

I've notice the trans shifts into gear a little slower and the engine revs are higher for the given speed when everything is very cold. The engine rpms return to normal within minutes.

Normal. I too experienced this and don't think anything of it.

A couple weeks back we had negative temps. For about 5 days I started my car at about 5 degrees or so but would let it run for about 5 minutes before trying anything, no issues with the tranny.

The only thing I noticed is my digital screen was very slow to respond, I would change the temp and you could see the numbers slowly change, it was odd.

That's normal for led screens to slow down below temp.
