So I have a 2011 S, completely stock with a G note to spend. I can't send my headlights to Kmoney yet so thats not an option. I'm thinking Stillen lip and spoiler, which I can get painted for the bubble. So it would only run me about $500. Then a set of Morimoto's for $150. not sure what else...maybe a diffuser or a rear section exhaust. The exhaust would put me over the mark but I could pull it off. Like to hear some thoughts

I would drop it on Eibachs and install an aftermarket RSB. If you can do the install yourself you save enough $$ to get the Stillen lip +

I have no idea on how you reached $500 for the lip and spoiler, the price of the lip doesn't seem to waver that much but the spoiler can be had for pretty cheap with great results. This is the one that I have now that I purchased back in June and was color matched perfectly.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/301-PAINTED-NISSAN-MAXIMA-FACTORY-STYLE-SPOILER-2009-2010-2011-2012-2013-2014-/151121074562?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item232f849982
And can't go wrong with the Morimoto kit, I have that and the Black Body clear lens from TRS.

Can't speak on the diffuser and exhaust, I don't have that yet.

Dr2010 - I actually forgot to mention that I don't want to drop it just yet. Im coming from a slammed car living in RI where the roads suck. My front lip was destroyed because of it. So Im going to enjoy the comfy ride for a bit. Once my stock suspension starts to go then ill do coils.

escblads - Good look on that spoiler. Im just basing it off of Stillen's site. They want $230 for it. On the spoiler you got, how was the wiring for the TBL, did you remove your TBL from the rear window?

Underneath the spoiler in the center there is just a thin pair of wires coming out of it. I ran those underneath the trunk lid cover, through the rubber tubing, then spliced it in with my third brake light wire. I unplugged my 3rd brake light and left it there since I'd have the hole there if I removed it and I couldn't find any of those 3rd brake light delete plates that some dealerships have. All in all for it being my first time ever drilling into the body of a car (outside of drilling through the firewall), it went pretty well and only took about an hour to install.

Also if you install it yourself, just remember to either put some paint, wd-40, or something on the holes you drill to make sure it doesn't start to rust from humidity or if it ever gets wet under there.

Aite thanks. That seams like such a score. I will save the extra 130 and roll with this for sure.

Looks, exterior.

Im a little sketched about a diffuser for some reason just knowing someone could rip it off if they really wanted to. I would like to secure it somehow if I got it but wouldn't want it to look gaff. Anyone go out of there way to secure there diffuser?

If I had a spare grand and a stock car I would go for window tint and trunk spoiler. The rest would be a nice present for my bride.

I'm in RI too and recently did Eibach springs and have noticed an improvement in handling with no scrapes or rubbing or any negative feedback whatsoever, even with these terrible roads

Just a heads up: if you order from Racingline for the rear sway bar (which IMO is the better one) or anything from them for that matter, make sure you do it all in one shot -- I placed an order for the rear sway bar along with stainless steel front & rear end links on Jan 3rd and it is supposed to arrive 1/21. I'm also interested in front strut tower bar as well but didn't order it from them and certainly would've thrown it in with the original order had I known they would be this slow

PS - Sunset Tint FTW on tint and it's not even close -- $257 total including tax

you're welcome

I actually had racingline coils on my tc and loved em. That was pretty low so my lip got so f'd. What % tint did you go with? It's technically illegal in RI but obviously a lot of people have it. I was at the WW court house recently for a speeding ticket and there was about a dozen people there for tint. I couldn't even believe it.

I went 35% to play it safe although I wanted to do 20% -- you know how bad some of these cops are about tint, so, that was my rationale. In my opinion, anything darker than 35% in this state is asking to get pulled over

Agreed. 35% is just enough to look nice yet not too dark. I don't know how they decide who to pull over, I see tinted windshields every now and again and just some dark *** tint where you can't see a thing. I work in Prov and I dought there cops give a ****. So I might go for it.

From someone that had his 2012 S maxima brand new... I say just do tint, K&N filter intake and maybe springs. Trust me when I say ive had 4 maximas, this one is my 5th, these cars have issues on them. Dont do anything to mess up your warranty. It will save you a headache at the dealership!

Im just giving my 2 cents

Went with a stillen lip and diffuser. Morimoto hids, a spoiler and smoked tail light overlays. Getting the diffuser, grill and my '12 sport wheels painted the same color.

Hey, so let me ask you this: who did you go with for the paint job? Eventually I'm doing the lip and side skirts from STILLEN and a roof wing from shadow speed on eBay (check 'em out if you don't know -- it's like $80 or $90 shipped with an exact color match to your car's paint code!! A lot of positive feedback from fellow .org members)

So I'm gonna check a couple spots out and wanted to compare notes with you. If you haven't gotten it painted yet, a place I'm gonna get a quote from is Christy's in Johnston.

I actually have a buddy who works at a shop so Im getting pretty hooked up. Someone backed into my rear bumper and cracked it so I got a decent check from his insurance company. Gave my buddy less than half of what I got. He's painting the new bumper, lip, front grill, diffuser and wheels. I already got that wing actually just waiting for some decent weather do install it.

Put me on with your buddy then! I'm sure he's good otherwise you wouldn't let him touch your whip

I don't expect the same pricing as you but send me a PM with his info and I'll tell him you referred me and go from there

I already have two shops I'm gonna get quotes from and he'd round out a solid 3-spot as I'm looking to get a bunch of stuff done paint-wise so it would certainly not be a waste of his time

I can even drop my car off for two weeks when I get married and go on my honeymoon so there would be plenty of time to do it (weeks of 6/23 and 6/30)

STILLEN front lip and side skirts painted and put on, door handles and chrome strip on trunk painted same color of car (KBC color code), window trim painted from chrome to gloss black, front grill border painted from chrome to gloss black and emblem painting too on grill and trunk if he's good with it

My mans, pots & pans

I live in Chicago which is pot hole hell and I'm lowered on coils, but then again it wouldn't be worth spending the gino right away on coils if you don't want to drop it. With the 1000 though, id probably go intake, tints, stillen lip, rsb and the racing line strut bar to stiffen up the body roll a little

Too late, went all looks. Stillen lip and diffuser. Spoiler. Morimoto HID's. Tail light overlays. Just pulled my grill, got it out in like 15-20 mins with the help of a pick tool. Gonna paint that, the diffuser and wheels same color. Def gonna consider intake/rear section. Not sure if I want a full exhaust even though some sound pretty sick, the one I want was like $1500 and not sure im goin down that road.

I usually don't bother with making my own exhausts but since any decent exhaust is way over priced I decided I would make my own with nice pipes. Afterwards I'm jigging it out to make my friends one too. I can tell you it won't cost me more than $700 which is good news. Tig Welder some 409 titanium stabilized stainless and some Mixed gas with some 409Ti filler rod the exhaust comes out sweet looking. I'm a fan of 409 for the heat tolerance.

I'm trying to make it dual from the exhaust manifolds back with an "X" pipe which really brings out the aggressive tone. Not to mention the "X" pipe setup increases the scavenging effect.

Anyway, some exciting things happening over here, I get excited about others modifying their rides because I get to see their sweet rides. I guess that's why we all like to see the pics others post.

Oh and well done on your first mods.

This sounds exactly what I had on my 350z and it sounded nice. I'm curious what it'll sound like on the max especially since it's an automatic....

This is about what it would sound like. The Challenger has a 3.6ltr engine very close in displacement. The exhaust would be setup very similar like but would have more than just a muffler inline. It would have inline resonators as well to tune out the rasp on rev.

This isn't my first exhaust rodeo so I know what would really make it throaty and not raspy. I hate rasp more than I hate Justin Bieber which is like a decision between having a severe stroke or hepatitis C. Anyway, it is a work in progress between projects I carefully cut an assemble the pieces making sure I take it easy. Making this go fast makes for sloppy work. I'm also V-banding the system so I can interchange parts if needed. Anyway I may just post it here when done.

Oh! This is not my business nor am I affiliated in anyway with the video. This is simply a youtube clip demonstrating what a 3.5ltr Maxima may sound like. I don't drive a dodge either.

That thing sounds good, post some vids when you finish your setup gravkills. Do any rear sections have a decent sound do you know?

Rear sections will generally sound the same if they are the same size in diameter and length because the mid-section and cats are still intact. Glass packs are the exception to this. What would really sound bad is resonator tip on any muffler.

This would probably be my favorite setup. The overall system is exactly what I am working on right now.

Shoot... with all the R&D I'm putting into it I might as well market my finished product. I just wish I had more time to dedicate to this right now. Instead of a few days its now going on a week now. Just want it done already!

That's awesome that you've got the experience and know-how to build your own. I would do the same but am not that handy!

As far as marketed aftermarket exhausts it's AAM Competition FTW but I'd be lying if the $600 new, in-the-box Borla exhaust being sold in the classified section didn't make me think twice.

Woulda had first crack at it, too, but I'm sticking to my guns. 8-)
