Difference between coil packs

Im experiencing some issues with my engine and it looks like I have to replace a coil pack. I just want to know what is the a difference between the Front right coil pack and the Front left? Its a 6 cyl car, which means their are only 3 in the front and im guessing it also depends on what angle your looking from. Im searching Ebay and Amazon for cheaper prices than the store. I just want to know before I purchase the wrong thing.

The car is a '97 Maxima by the way.

All the front are the same and all the rear are the same; meaning no swapping rear with front and front with the rear.

And get OEM only otherwise you will get a CEL.
Rockauto has OEM brand a lot cheaper.

Always getting a (check engine light) with an aftermarket coil isn't always true but yes i have to agree with the fact oem is a usually a better quality coil and recomended.

go to the junk yard and pull either a hanshin or a mitsubishi coil pack, those are oem nissan packs...they run about 15 or 20 bux!

I know the difference between the front and the rear. Its just while searching for replacement front packs, some people call them lefts, some people call them rights, but they all look the same. So Im guessing its just wording preference. I found them on ebay for less than $20, brand new. Im just noticing the majority are for 2000 maxima so Im scared to purchase them, im guessing the coil packs arent compatible.

2000 coilpack will not work on 97.

Right/left refers to front/rear in a transverse engine.

In your '97 Max, The front bank is also called the "left bank" or "bank 2". The rear bank is the "right bank" or "bank 1".

In layman's terms, what they're saying is... Left = radiator side, Right = Firewall side

I'd question any coil that costs $20 or less from eBay. Either grab some from a yard or get new oem. If you go aftermarket at least get a descent set from a parts store.
