Thumbs down Door Locks Freezing

Is anyone else having issues with their door locks freezing this winter, its becoming too common for me.

About a 2 weeks ago it happened for the first time, door opened but wouldn't close or attach then finally it would close but didn't open and handle felt flimsy, being that this never happened I thought the door lock actuator crapped out b/c I tried hot water on the handle etc..long story shorter, thankfully before dealer started the work my door thawed in their garage and opened. He sprayed it with some silicone sent me on my way...Happened again a few days later but this time after the driver froze, the passenger door froze so then I had to climb through the backseat lock de-icer has been my best friend since but honestly this has never happened since my first car 2000 Taurus and that was a POS. Why now on a 2010 its frustrating !

Are you pressure washing the car often? perhaps the water pressure is too high and getting to the insides of the latch mechanism, freezing up before it has a chance to drain out?

Silicone spray on the latch is a bit too thin, i'd smear some silicone grease (Walmart has this as 'tune-up grease' for spark plug boots ~ any dielectric silicone grease should be fine.

Lock de icer helps in pinch but they can be prone to freezing again. When the weather gets milder and the moisture disipates from your locks try a product called magic oil. Its a graphite oil which I have found to work well as a preventative. So apply it while its mild and avoid the use of power washer around the locks when washing or put something over them while your washing.
