All Maxima Owners
All Maxima Owners
Ive noticed over the years that maxima owners have a huge heart and passion when it comes to meeting other owners or about their car. For example, when the first maxima my father had another gentlemen had the same model and they talked for hours about their cars and life in general. Till this day my father is still friends with the same guy.
I just love hearing stories about how other owners met or how you came into the Nissan world. I wanted to start this thread to hopefully hear all the unique stories how you fell in love with the Maxima?

Love Maxima
Since I'm a new here I suppose I will go first. I fell in love with Nissan in general because I modified my first 350z back in 2006. I was still in Mechanics school and working a tire tech job for Jaguar. I had modified, rebuilt, manufacture parts and tuned just about every toyota and honda out then. My cousin brought his 350z to me and I told him all I could do for him on his budget at the time was a good ol 75 shot of squeeze. He bought a dry zex kit and I spent the next few days making it look very nice and hidden. While I was disassembling parts of his car I notice the quality of parts and the extra things that Nissan had built right into their vehicles. I found it very odd that a company would just give stuff like that away. In 2006 side and pillar air bags weren't all standard on vehicles you had to buy those options. Nissan offered this on their vehicles free of charge and extra road noise padding. Honda use to have a permaplate package and a extra safety package to for those that wanted to eliminate road noise and to feel extra safe driving.
Anyway, we drove it and went through a few bottles tuning his timing during my driving experience I fell in love with Nissans in general it was my "guilty pleasure" I guess you could say. Then I came out of the closet 13 years after many modifications/boost/exhaust/interior/audio installations later. I saw my Maxima it was priced very generously at 24k new on the lot. The very last 2013 they had so I test drove it to make sure the juice was worth the squeeze and I bought it the very next hour I test drove it from my wifes dealership. I still grin when I drive it knowing she is mine. I vacuum her out every day and hand wash her once or twice a week. I re polish her with fully synthetic wax. I am working on an exhaust for her right now. 2.5" full duals hopefully with an x pipe. Once I'm done I'm going to jig the exhaust if it sounds good. I have a few friends who want one if the exhaust sounds good. Other than that I'm taking it easy on the mods I'm doing. It only has 2k on it right now so I'm still in the honey moon stage.

I'm 22 now and I've been driving a Maxima since I had my license at 16. At first I was looking at Audi's and BMW's, and I came so close to buying a 04 Audi A4 before I realized the check engine light came on as I sat in the car to pull away from the lot. Im actually glad it did. Not long after that, my friends dad was cruising around on his harley and saw a 2001 maxima se for sale, he called me let me know about it. Shortly after i asked my dad if hed take me to check it out, he did, and as soon as i seen that max i was like shes the one. i drove it and felt like it was me. i bought it shortly after. well a few months after that i ended up rear ending some jag off in a range rover because he didnt know how to use turning signals. the max got totaled, and so i was looking for my second max. I found this 2004 max se with all the bells and whistles. got that that one and loved it. then another accident came cuz some guy cut me off on the highway and i ended up spinning out on the highway. anyway it ended badly. that one got totaled as well. so i found this 2007 sL max, drove her for so many miles until i decided to try something new and went to an acura tsx. i hated that thing. i had it for about 3 months, until i traded it in for my current 2010 max sv. i will probably have a maxima my entire life. i test drove other cars and i cant seem to feel right in those like i do in my max. at first i planned on keeping her stock, and then one thing led to another, shes sitting pretty in my garage with a few more things needed to be done to her. i love my max and will till something happens to her or its time to replace for the latest model, when ever that comes.
14 years ago, I was just out locally driving around in my 4th gen when I saw a bunch of Maxima's in a parking lot. I pulled in and parked up, walked around and met some really nice people. Til this day, a few of us have remained friends, best friends and the rest, we have just lost contact over the many years of growing up. I've had many cars after my 4th gen including BMW's, Lexus, Acura's and have joined forums all over...but I have never met any people as true and down to earth, friendly, as the people who share the same love for their Maxima's. I recently purchased my 14' SV 7th gen and even though i'm not overly impressed, its still a fun and reliable car. Hoping the people haven't changed and looking forward to building new friendships!

Maybe it's just me but I never second look Maximas I see on the road and I never notice if another Maxima owner is looking at me.
Even when another Maxima or Altima fly up behind me on the highway, they'll usually go past me at a high rate of speed then get in my lane in front of me maybe thinking I'll do the same.
