Smallest Rims that will fit

I have an 09 Maxima SV with 19in Factory Rims. My question is how small can i go for an extra set of rims for the winter without having clearance issues. I tried looking for 18 or 19inch steel rims and couldn't find any. So any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

pick up a set of the 6th gen 18" rims. I believe those are as small as you can run due to the brake size on the 7th gen.

i'm sure you can get 17's on it, but i haven't tried it. Maybe steelies 16's will clear? Go to a tire shop that sells tires and wheels and see if you can find a competent tech who would help you find the best deal. 18's and 19's tires are very expensive, I understand why you want to get a smaller rim.

It would look weird though on a 7th gen since its such a big car but that's a different story.

TireRack suggests that a 17" wheel package is good for snows on the 2013 Maxima. I haven't checked other years of 7th generation, but I would think this 17" diameter would be fine for 2009+

17 is good. U will probably get a lighter response on the throttle due to lighter unsprung weight. Just make sure u get the right size aspect ratio on the tires

Probably need an alignment too since it will technically be out of spec running anything below 18s
