Auto Dim and tinting

Hello everyone, i've been a Maxima owner since 2000 and just bought a 2010 Maxima the other day. I've wanted to tint the windows but started wondering how that will effect being able to view the auto dimmed side mirrors, if it makes its too dark at night. So if anyone can give their experience with it that would be great!

My front windows are a 50% tint and I have no issues with the auto dim feature being too dark at night. If anything it doesn't dim enough lol. With that I think darker tints would work just fine with this feature without sacrificing visibility

Ok great, thanks! I didnt realize it had the auto dimming on the outside until I bought it, so hadnt really thought about it and just made me curious.

You're welcome! But yeah I didn't notice it until I bought mine as well. Generally speaking though I think as long as you don't go below 20% you'd have no issues with the feature but I cannot speak for anything lower than that.

I've been doing 5% on my cars for the last 10 years I've been pulled over once and that was 8 years ago for a warning but I love the dark tint the inside of the car stays so much cooler during the day.
