Noise behind instrument cluster

Hey guys, I've got a rattle/squeak coming from behind my speedometer. It sounds like a loose bolt or plastic clip or something. Anyone else have this? Does anyone know how to get the cluster cover off to check it out? I'm pretty OCD about my car and it's driving me nuts.

I have a noise that sounds like it's coming from the same area. It happens when I go over bumps. More often when I am turning and going over a bump. It's difficult to tell exactly where it's coming from. It does not sound like something small rattling around. It sounds more like a loose cable or other assembly. It seems to be worse when it's really cold. I'm wondering if your noise is similar. This may be a common problem. Has anyone else experienced noise in this area?

I waiting till it warms up to really check it out. I'm going to try and work from under the dash before I start taking anything apart. Need to be very careful about taking things apart because you may introduce additional noises. I'm not sure how accessible everything is but I may add some tie wraps and make sure everything is secure. I'll post if I have any luck fixing it.

You are not alone, these kinds of noises drive most people nuts. They are also an indication of the build quality of the vehicle.

Had the exact same issue with my '07. Drove me nuts. Never did go digging for it. I was convinced it was a loose nut or cable underneath the horn cover.

Had this problem with my former 12 Maxima. Took to dealer and it took them 2 times to fix. They told me they sprayed foam insulation in there to stop the rattle. Covered by the 3 year 36K warranty.
