2000 Maxima Air Snorkel?

I noticed that the air snorkel isn't properly attached. It's missing the two mounting bolts that attach it to the frame, but if i move it so that it aligns with the mounting holes, it pulls out of the loose plastic coupling thing that connects it to whatever the other thing is (See 6 seconds into the video to see what I'm talking about). Does it have a big impact on my car? Should I take it out? Thanks !

Mine did the same thing. I removed the entire "snorkel" and air filter box. Cut the mounting side of the maf sections and put a cone filter on the end. Home made short ram intake. I can send you pics if interested.

You can always do an intake and remove snorkel, and just throw a filter on your MAF. Or you can do some more involved work and do a mid-pipe and remove the helmholtz resonator. Another good product is a velocity stack.

Easiest thing for you to do is just do the GAB mod. Basically this just opens up your airbox and you can do it by drilling some holes in it or just cut out a whole piece and leave the filter attached. Search GAB mod there is a ton of info and pics on that.

Or you can get a couple of retaining clips which is what the snorkel is held down with, not bolts. Put em in and then RTV the connection to the airbox and put a clamp behind it once you push it all the way on, that way it wont slide off and hold well. I had to do this a while back myself, my airbox/snorkel was exactly like yours before I started my mods.

Use a silicone couple on it.
That's your cold air.
You do not want hot air intake and it will be loud with
the cone. I think it was a 3'' and it doesn't move

How does the silicone couple look like. Could you give me a link to one?

No and no. I have a homemade short ram intake. No performance loss per my butt dyno. And the noise is not loud at all...hardly noticeable. All the OP needs is the right cone filter and boom! He can make a short ram intake.
