No respect!!

OK, is it just that I'm biased or the 2002 Max is getting no respect from the auto world? I got really ****ed when I saw this CD review.

http://www.caranddriver.com/xp/Caran...comparo_36.xml

Maybe a fully-loaded Max doesn't even break into the $30k, but should that be counted against it? Look at the acceleration numbers in that comparo... The 2002 6-speed Max would have put most of those sport sedans to shame. The Max could have been handling impaired though against them, but I think I would have put a nice fight anyways.

Is the G35 gonna offer a manual tranny?

Just venting...

Why should the Maxima in the article? Maxima is just a family sedan, although its sport oriented.

But I35 should be in it. But C/D tested the I35 before, 0-60 at 8.1second, which makes it not ideal for the test (unless you want the Max to look bad).

Remember, magazines are written to sell, some very creative writing even. How to get respect? This is what I do, if this idiotic driver thinks and acts all stupid, like revving engine, looking snobby or just act all that, I look over not even bothering to rev, light turns green, I just take off like there's no tomorrow, usually literraly leaping a half to one car length in front and I normally seem him just stop trying. Of course before taking off, looking to make sure there isn't anyone running the red light. Intstant respect from a 222 Max.

The Maxima is a sedan just like the others in the comparo. It's not from a premium brand like Audi, Lincoln , or Lexus, but IMO it would have been competent and the better value.
The reason why they probably did not include the I35 is because it doesn't have a manual tranny as an option. Notice all the sedans tested had manual trannies. BTW, the I35 did 0-60 in 6.9 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 15.3@92mph... (CD, Dec 2001) Not too shabby for an automagic

All of the other sedans in the comparo can also be family sedans. They have 4 doors and a back seat so you can carry your family in them. So what makes the Max more of a family sedan than the others?

I agree... totaly! Also I had a subscription to C&D since "94" and I cancelled it due to their biased reviews and the favortism towards BMW, (who make awsome vehicles by the way) even though they do have the right to rave about whatever vehicle they chose to in their publication, I did not have to pay them to read it
