Do Driving Habits Change the way your Transmission Shifts?

So, I've come across an interesting finding that I wanted to get some more information about. I noticed over the past month or so that my transmission has been shifting as if it has a TransGo HD2 kit, BUT, without any of the pros of the kit, like faster shifts etc. I did change the fluid, drain and refill, about 3 times which made no difference. Keep in mind I had built up some aggressive street driving over that past month.

Now here's the interesting part. I installed the NWP Engine spacers which recommended that you disconnect the battery. After sitting the whole night letting the RTV cure, I plugged the battery up, started the car and . The shifts were smooth as butter.

That brings me to my original question as to whether or not the ECU changes the way the transmission shifts, line pressure specifically, based on your driving habits. I do know that disconnecting the batttery resets the ecu and it has to relearn shifting points etc. Those spacers however begged for the pedal to the floor, and I am met once again with the semi jolting shifts from 1-2, and less harsh shifts from 2-3. They jolts don't bother me, although I will get a cooler asap for the summer and my fast driving. I just found it peculiar that a battery unplug could change the feel of the transmission shifting.
