Highway driving - Revs @ 100km/h?

Hi there,

All the way from New Zealand

First post on here, been browsing these forums for about a week or 2.
Long story short - Looking at a 5th Gen Maxima like this:

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used...-710381718.htm
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used...-702325903.htm

I'm curios to know what rev's you guys see while doing 100km/h, or 62m/h.

I commute to the city everyday so looking for something better then my daily honda ascot 2L 5 Cyl. It gets me around 480-500kms for about 50-53 litres of 95 octane. Does around 2800rpm @ 100km/h.

I have always been a maxima fan, so looking for a wee bit of power and economy at the same time.

I found one post that says they do 2500 @ 100km/h? Does that sound right? I would have thought it be a bit lower.

Please advise.

Thanks champs.

Yea 2800 is pretty high. My old 4th gen 3.0 does about 2400-2500 doing 65mph.

Now the 6spd 3.5 is a bit better at around 2200 at 65mph

Thanks heaps for the video - so aparently itl do 500miles, which is around 700ks on the open road, depending on how heavy your right foot is.

I was looking at this Ti Model - http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used...-686565333.htm

What do you think, anyone?

If i can get 600ks to a tank, id be pretty happy.

Thanks once again guys!

I had that same car few years ago. Same color and everything. Minus the right hand drive, but plus leather seats. It was a nice car.

Thanks! What was she like on gas? Any specific maintenance I should worry about?

I'm pretty handy with tools anyway so small things are fine
