Need help with my 2000 nissan maxima se 5spd

I recebtly changed the tps sensor for my maxima. It idles fine but when i accelerate it the rpms do not pass 2000 and i have to really hit the gas for the rpms to really jump ....but its not a smooth rise in rpms as it should be when i hit the gas...it kind of like hesitates to pass 2000 rpms... i need help any would be appreciated..
This is my first thread and am not sure if my problem os already answered somewhere on this forum.
So give me some slack and dont stone me for being a noob on the forum. Thanks.

After replacing the TPS, did you perform any relearn procedures laid out in the FSM? It sounds like that could be a potential culprit. Also, any check engine light? If so, what are the codes?

Reason for my changing the tps is because i changed the iacv to fix po505 code ( which worked ) and then when i changed my tps because i got a new one from a friend for cheap. My car would like hesitate in first gear, clutch out and all just driving slow in first gear and it would start to jump and jerk back and forth like as if i didnt know how to pull out of first gear. What could of been causing this ...currently my car is in the back i dont wanna drive it while its doing that in first gear.... and because of the problem with the rpms i stated earlier....could it all be related ?

Oh my... The infamous P0505? I sincerely hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that code has been known to send ECU's to the graveyard.

Head over to www.nissanservicemanual.com and download a copy of your FSM. It will have the relearn procedures laid out I believe on page 40 something if my memory serves me correctly.

Try the relearn procedures. You'll want to do Idle Air Relearn, and Pedal Position Relearn, and Throttle Valve Closed Relearn at least. This should reset everything so that the ECU has an opportunity to learn all the new parts you've installed.

DO NOT get the 2000 manual from www.nissanservicemanual.com. Get the 2000.5. The 2000 manual they have is for the European Maxima QX and it is not the same as the North American Maxima.

The throttle relearn is in section EC, starting on page 58.

Hey guys i put in the new tps no codes or nothing but when i hiy the gas or hold it the car just wont go past 2000 rpms unless i really hit the gas. And if i just hold down the gas itll jump around from 1500-1700 rpms
I tried the idle relearn but it still does that. And i dont dare drive the car like that. What can i do ?? Could it be the way i installed the new tps ??
Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

Did you do the other relearn procedures or just the idle relearn?

All the relearn procedures are on the same page of the FSM. (58 of section EC as stated above). The ones to perform are the Idle Air relearn, Throttle Valve Position Closed relearn, and Accelerator Pedal Position Closed relearn. I could be wrong being that yours is a 5th Gen, as I have more knowledge of the 5.5 Gen and those are to be done on the 5.5.

I'm on my tablet right now and don't have the FSM for the 5th Gen saved on here, so I will have to jump on my computer later on and pour through it to be able to post more solid info unless someone else can jump in for me beforehand.

The dealer will (or at least should) perform all relearn procedures before doing anything else, so it would be worth your time to be do them ahead of time to rule that out before making a potentially costly trip to have them diagnose it.
