97 maxima brake light issue
last week my car died on the road and was told i needed a new alternator. replaced that car ran good. then noticed my brake lights werent working. i checked the fuse box under the dash and under the hood but cant find what fuse it is . all i see are tail lights but cant figure out which is the brake lights fuse
ChrisMan - you've got this confused with something else, brake lights and tail lights do not use the same fuse.
The tail lights use fuse # 5, 7.5 amps. this fuse also powers the dash lights and the door chime.
The brake lights use fuse # 10, 15 amp. This fuse also powers the cruise control and the ABS unit.
Both fuses are in the dash fuse block, to the left of the steering column.
Fuse # 5 is in the left-most column, 5th one up from the bottom.
Fuse # 10 is also in the left-most column, 10th one up from the bottom.
