99 max seatbelt light flasing after interor swap
So after 14 years I finally swapped out my tan interior for mint black guts from a 97 so the main problem that is driving me nuts is the seatbelt light is flashing ,there was a small 2 wire connection on my stock tan seat belt that I don't have on the 97 seatbelt that mounts on the lower b pillar .i already checked to make sure connectors under the seat are plugged In and it's all good any idea of what I can do ? This is going to drive me nutz ,I guess I can go hunt down a 99 seatbelt ,but with all the ppl who have done this swap I was hoping someone would know a work around .

Yes did that 3 times I think it's because my 99 seatbelts have a plug in and the ones I got at the junk yard don't have any place to plug up ,I was hoping someone on here had faced this problem already .
Do you still have the old seat belts? Usually a resistor to mimic the Ohm value of a sensor can be bridged into the plug so the the car thinks the original belts are still connected.
When I removed the SRS style seats in my 99 I30 and replaced them with seats from a 97 Maxima, I inserted a resistor into the plug to mimic the Ohm value of the SRS seats. To find the correct Ohm value to use for mimicking the SRS seat, all I did was Ohm test the old seat wire to the SRS seat unit, then bought a resistor for that value and inserted in place of the seat.
I swapped seat belts in my 99 I30 with belts from a 96 Maxima. I don't recall having a problem with the wires being unplugged. I think the wires were used to trigger the seat belt unit "explosive charge" that locks the belts and keeps them from not being usable after the SRS system has been activated.
While I doubt the Ohm value for SRS seats will work for seat belts, here's how I used a resistor to mimic the value of an SRS seat when I replaced 99 I30 SRS seats with seats from a 97 Maxima. The same concept may work for seat belts if in fact your I30 is looking for the wires to be connected.

call me crazy here but, when i did'nt want to see the seatbelt light flashing anymore i just unplugged my one wire underneath the seat. the fact that it's flashing tells me it's plugged in???
The seat belts in a 99 (and I think 98) are made different then earlier. It has to do with locking up during an accident. Up to 97, seat belts locked by inertia. In 98, the Federal safety laws changed and the seat belts locked up by means of a small explosive charge similar to the air bags deploying.
That wire is to explode the charge. Not being hooked up, the air bag sensor under the console detects a problem. I don't know if you can trick it with a resistor like CS_AR suggested, you might have to either take the bulb out or get an air bag sensor from a 97.
