I need help on my 4th gen turbo project

I really want to turbo my 4th gen maxima but the kit I found on turbokits.com is way too expensive. I'm just wondering if anyone has a turbo manifold or turbo parts or kits for sale. It can be used or new. Advice and tips on how to turbo my 4th gen will also be very appreciated.

First, read the stickies and threads in this forum
http://forums.maxima.org/supercharged-turbocharged-38/

Then look in the FI classifieds for parts, and post a WTB thread like you have done already.

Btw, do I need bigger fuel injectors if I already have an 00vi setup with bigger fuel injectors? Also, do I have to have an emanage system or can a shop tune it for me?

I have questions about my turbo setup

Do I have to have an emanage system to get my car tuned correctly or can I just take it to the shop to have it tuned? Also, I have an 00vi swap on my car so will I still need bigger fuel injectors for my turbo setup even though the 00vi swap came with bigger fuel injectors?

I am new to the turbo set up scene and need advice and tips from people who have done it before. Any advice goes a long way. Thank you

you don't have to have emanage but you have to have something... what are they going to "tune" with if you don't have a tuning device? it's kind of like asking do i have to have a phone to make a phone call.

your 00vi injectors are only like 15-20% bigger than your stock ones. i'd advise you to get larger ones. there are other ways of rigging things, but you will likely end up wishing you'd done things the right way the first time, rather than F-ing up and having to spend more money to fix things and do it right the second time after corner cutting has caused you a problem.

to be blunt - you are not ready to turbo your car if you don't know these things. i advise against it until you've gained a whole lot more knowledge on the subject.

4thgenking, your two turbo threads have now been merged into one as there's no need for multiple threads on the same subject.

As Nealoc187 pointed out, your tuning question is a bit disturbing... Read, read, and read some more!

Also, you should consider purchasing and reading this book to understand the basics of turbocharging a vehicle, tuning, choosing the right size injectors etc

Amazon Amazon

This book is decent too

Haha, yeah my dad knows a lot more about the subject than I do and I felt stupid once I talked to him after I asked that question about tuning. But he mentioned something about I could take out my JWT chip and run the stock ecu with bigger fuel injectors to get a match instead of using emanage. Is that right? And if so, is that better or worse than just getting something like emanage or nistune?

I found out that the kit I plan on purchasing actually comes with rc550 injectors. Are these a good size for running with the stock ecu and the turbo at about 6-8psi? Also will I need to upgrade my fuel rails or can I get away with the stock fuel rails?
