i dunno if its just me living in Canada, where everyone drives on steelies for half the year, but plastidipping rims black looks terrible to me.

it just makes it look you have steel rims from far away

black is the only color option for plasti-dipping rims?

I painted mine black and I like them. It covers up the aging dis colored alloy rims that I currently have. OP I'll post some pics of mine in a few hours.

Those rims have 3 coats of black plastidip and has been dipped for 1 year and 3 months.

I'm not sure if those are the oem rims your talking about but I have a 97 also with oem.

Plastidip is like eight bux a can, if you need to ask how it looks before doing it then you should probably be fixing maintenance issues first.

I have used plasti-dip on a few small applications but never on rims personally, but the good news is....if you don't like how it comes out you can just peel it off. As far as colors go, I have seen people plasti-dip their OEM 17 inch rims orange, green, pink, yellow, and purple. And IMO it looks sick! There is also a smoke colored plasti-dip that works really well. It gets darker with every layer that you paint. Check either home depot or lowes for availablity. Ebay/amazon is best off course though if you are not in a rush. If you have particular questions though about using plasti-dip just msg me.

That will be sick!! I have seen a few in the matte black finish, but me personally I would try to clear coat it. What finish are you thinking about? Satin, flat, or gloss?

Which rims? Just buy yourself a can... $6 at Lowes. and paint one, lots of layers! - or it will be a pain to remove. Use goo gone and it will eat it away if too thin.

or

Planning on Plasti-Dipping my rims as well.

Any suggestions as to what color would look nice on my Maxima?

1998 White SE 5SP/MT
I believe these rims are 17"

I'm thinking something like gunmetal black (if they even make that color) or maybe white?

Personally I wouldn't go with white just because it would match too much. But if you like it who cares. I would say just go with black. Looks good with window tints too. Also I see you have stock taillights, you should put on some smoked red/clears. They look gorgeous.

Yeah I do like black or like a gunmetal black.

As for the taillights, I'm not sure what the "smoked red/clears" are, do you have a link?

I was thinking of going with the spyder black taillights

And then for my head lights

For the taillights I purchased these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-RED-SMOKE-TAIL-LIGHTS-LAMPS-FOR-97-98-99-NISSAN-MAXIMA-/141185718038?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20df531716
They were cheaper than others. Arrived earlier than expected, and came with more than enough weather strip. Only problem is the inner pieces stick out a bit, but that can be fixed easily. I love them though.

As for the headlights, if you have enough money go for it but I'm cheap so I purchased oem headlights lol
