Strange tape over the radiator hose

Opened trunk of my 2014 Maxima and noticed that short braided nylon sleeve over the radiator hose has a ripped side and some adhesive tape over it. Does not look like it suppose to be this way. Can someone comment it? I would appreciate a picture of a "normal" hose.
Thanks!

My 2012 has a similar piece of tape on it. Probably to hold that mesh in place.

Yours must be that elusive rear engined Maxima or perhaps the even more rare dual engined Max Maxima?

Sorry, I could not resist!

That mesh just prevents rubbing damage to the rubber hose. The tape is sort of a ****-poor looking way to secure it in place. but whatever.

Thank you all!

Couldn't imagine that it was done in such way at the factory.
