Potential buyer. Have some questions.

Looking to purchase a 2014 Maxima SV with maybe just adding a spoiler.
What are the possible brands of tires that come with the car? Just want to make sure I get the better one.

MSRP is 35,190. Poking around on the internet it seems like $28k-29k is possible here in the New York City area. Has anyone in this area able to get this kind of deal or better recently? Would love to hear your experience. Any recommended dealers in particular?
Thanks

Sounds pretty good. I have the premium with pretty much every single tech option avail. I would have purchased the sport model, but it doesn't come with anything. Well except for 19z and some smoked lights... Eh.

As I recall from my 2012 model, the sport package also adds a stiffer sway bar. A stiffer body and paddle shifters and the ability to drive the car in the sport mode. The car definitely handles better.

I thought the only options the sport (with tech/nav) lacked that the premium had available were basically cooled seats and pano sunroof....oh and the woodgrain everyone tries to get rid of. Correct me if I'm wrong though!

The Premium package also has the stiffer body (so no fold-down rear seat back), the paddle shifters, and the ability to drive the car in sport mode.

The reason the car with sport package handles a little tighter is because of the larger sway bars and the larger wheels (19 vs 18 inches) with lower profile tires (40 vs 45 profile). The premium package rides a tad smoother over road irregularaties. Both sport and premium packages are excellent buys for the goodies we get.

I love and use the rear window power sunshade that is available only with the Premium package (I use it full-time the hotter half of the year), and I appreciate the premium version of mood lighting that is only on the Premium package. But you are correct that the primary difference between the Sport and Premium are the wheels/tires and the dual panel power panoramic roof with power retractable sunshades.

My 2013 SV Sport w/ Tech and nav has heated seats and ventilated (cooled) driver seat. It has paddles (which I almost never use) and silver trim. It also has tinted tail lights and the darker wheels in 19's.

Premium has panoramic sunroof and "woodgrain" plastic. Pretty sure the tails aren't tinted and it comes with chromed wheels.

Maybe just bright silver paint then?

My Max's wheels don't look like premium or S model wheels.... They are that dark (maybe called hyper silver or something like that?) silver color.

Interesting. I always wondered why I never saw any Maxima's on the lots with chrome wheels!

Hey, this is off topic but this has been bugging me but when you start the car are the RPM's supposed to stay at 0 or increase even when parked?

On the factory setting, the needles do a full sweep on the gauge. Therefore, when you first start it, the needle on the RPM and MPH will sweep from 0 to 8000 RPM and 0 to 150 MPH then come back down. From there, the RPM will bounce back up to be at about 1500 or more (always under 2000 though) if the car is cold. At idle or after it has warmed up, it will rest at the picture you posted from 600-800.

The needle animation can be disabled through the settings, but why turn it off? It looks cool with it on.

The discounts for the sport and premium models are darn good. I'd look at all the models pricing at the dealership then decide which one you are willing to buy. They really come down on those loaded models if you read the buyers sticky thread up above.

My 2012 premium came with tinted tail lights, luckily I preferred the woodgrain.

The facelift for all 2012+ Maxima includes the tinted or darkened taillights. Also, the gauge cluster lights were updated to the frost blue color instead of the amber color. Besides those, I am not sure what the facelift Maximas share in common in terms of packages from before the facelift.

I'm not hating. I just found it underwhelming is all.
To be honest, I've warmed up to it a bit.
Weird that your premium came with tinted tails... I guess year to year, Nissan slapped together packages, then changed it the following year.

Starting in the 2012+ models....all of the tails were tinted. There's actually been guys on here with 2009-11 trying to trade/buy the tails off of the peeps with 2012+ Maxis.

Like me! I actually bought the tinted tails off eBay for my winter frost 2010. Gotta sell my original red ones eventually.
