My ac would work when I first start the car, then after less than 30 min it would stop working (compressor still running). I thought that there may be water in the system so I evacuated the system and refilled, no change. So, I took apart the evap and txv and this is what I found. So my current opinion is that I’ll replace the txv, compressor and dryer. The evap is flowing fine. The reason for replacing the compressor is it’s OEM and that when the system does work the high side is to low and low side to high (worn compressor). My main concern is where the hell did those plastic pieces in the expansion valve come from (10 to 20 of those balled pieces)? The dryer, compressor, stop leak… any ideas/thoughts? Thanks

 

That looks like descant beeds from the dryer.

 

I didn't think of that, I'll bet you're right. Have you ever seen that sort of failure before? I thought that the dryer had a screen to prevent that from occurring. Thanks for the input.

 

Never seen it before but I bet that's why your compressor is shot. Make sure the system is flushed before you put the new components in.
