Disconnect Y-Pipe at Cat Flange

Has anyone tried to disconnect the y-pipe at the connection to the Cat for the 1/4? I am sure it is loud but would be interested in hearing results with it disconnected vs connected 1/4 mile times. No backpressure will probably make it slower but I would like to know.

Hehe! You actually lose a LOT of power. I have tried it...well not on purpose, I had a muffler shop loosen those nuts for me and had it just blowing a little bit. The power loss is incredible! Why not just take off the whole Y pipe? Hehe!

Your 1/4 mile goes to about 10 minutes!

I ran a 14.6 with no Y pipe and no exhaust. The low end did suffer, but I did blow the factory clutch on that 14.6 run as well.
