You will have to clarify your question or post a picture. Is this seam inside the car or outside. Is it in the metal body of the car, trim piece or something else?

Probably safe to assume it is on the outside of the rear drivers door. Yes, a picture would be great. How long is the seam? Does it run in a horizontal or vertical direction. Is the seam curved or straight?

I would expect that door to be stamped in the factory as one so I would not expect any seams.

I have not noticed something like this on my rear door but I will take a closer look tonight.

It is a straight line running fron the rear winsheld to the crome molding on the rear door where the roof panel would meet the side panel about 4inches. Hard to see in the photo

Maybe it is a factory weld/joint that was not done properly.

That is what i was thinking. I bought the car used but there was no known accidents on carfax or another other history report. I have had the car for a month and never noticed it till today after the wash. Was thinking it could have been there and maybe buffed out.

The Maxima is a very nice vehicle but Nissan's quality generally leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully you got a good deal and enjoy the car for what it is.
