Help, I need Service advice
Help, I need Service advice
Long story short...my '02 has been in the shop three times now to have the sunroof adjusted to eliminate a wind noise along the passenger seam. The latest trip resulted in damage to my roof, which they agreed to fix (separate post). My question is, what can I expect??? I can still see daylight coming into the car along the seam and the seam makes gurggling noises when it's wet as the air passes by the water in the seam. Needless to say, the seam also drips water inside, I had two early 90's Hondas and never had any water problems with them. I've already tried having it fixed three times... what's next??? Can I demand a new car? It only has 3500 miles and the first trip in was within two weeks and 1000 miles. I didn't buy a $24,000 to have the roof leak. Thanks for the tips in advance and let me know if other Max's are leaking too.

Hi. Mine's not leaking.
Yes you should expect it to be fixed. I doubt the lemon law (if you're state has one) would allow you to get a new car because of a leaking sunroof, but you can try. And yes, I know what most lemon laws say... I just have a hard time believing they'd award you a new car for a leaking sunroof.
Have you tried going to another dealer to get it fixed? Sounds like this one isn't really doing the job.

I would definitely check up the lemon law in your state, plus ask the advice of an attorney if you know one that can help you interpret/harass dealer for a nominal fee (or free). If not then either try a new dealership, or return to the same one and demand satisfactory resolution to your problem. In any event I would write a letter to Nissan telling you how P***ed you are at the problem/lack of repair..it may get you something.
