How to change odometer milage on 97 SE speedo?

I just purchased a speedo cluster with 103K miles on it. I want to roll it back to 67K since thats wat i have on my car. Does anyone know how to do so without spending loads of $$?? thanks

i opened this thread ready to criticize you for wanting to set back your odometer im not really sure but i'd say pop off the clear plastic cover then just try to roll the #s back with your finger or with a pen or something. but that seems like it would be too easy. my odometer actually froze one day and when i went to get it fixed they said something about the gears being stuck or broken. see if you can get behind the whole thing and mess with the gears themselves.

I think there are shops authorized by the state to perform odometer adjustments such as in your case (where you replace your dash cluster). I would check to see how much those cost first before messing with the guage cluster myself and possibly breaking something.

I want to know too. I bought a gauge cluster too. The gauge cluster had around 55k miles on it, while the actual miles were about 48k. I thought about doing it myself too, but I really don't want to mess up.
